Kapwa Gardens 2.0

Role: Marketing Manager

Goal: Kapwa Gardens Is A Healing Space For The Community. A Kultivate Labs project designed to help our neighborhood recover from the devastating mental, physical, and economic effects of COVID-19. I am currently their Marketing Manager, overseeing all social media, email, web, and blog campaigns.

In 2022, I collaborated with the Kapwa Gardens team in launching a crowdfunding campaign to raise $30,000 used to grow the garden with bus upgrades & a new tent to weather proof the stage.

Evolving Into
Kapwa Gardens 2.0

Kapwa Gardens was built by an army of 350 volunteers during the darkest days of the lock-down. Since then, we have grown into a community space offering a vibrant line-up of socially distanced events, live performances, fitness classes, vendor markets, and food festivals. In 2022, we fundraised $30,000 to upgrade our space to better serve the local community.

I worked with our videographers to create social media videos
to better educate folks about the garden and our efforts.

Key Achievements

Campaign Strategy and Planning:

  • Developed a comprehensive fundraising strategy, outlining campaign goals, target milestones, and a timeline for the Indiegogo crowdfunding initiative.

Compelling Campaign Storytelling:

  • Crafted a compelling narrative that highlighted the community garden's history, its significance to local residents, and the vision for its future transformation through engaging visuals and heartfelt storytelling.

Incentive-based Rewards System:

  • Designed a tiered system of rewards and incentives to encourage donations.

Visual Assets and Multimedia Content:

  • Produced visually appealing assets, including videos, infographics, and images, to convey the campaign's message, showcase the garden's potential, and inspire potential donors.

Community Engagement and Outreach:

  • Leveraged social media, email campaigns, and community events to engage with local residents and potential donors, building a sense of community and shared ownership in the project.

Transparent Communication and Updates:

  • Maintained open and transparent communication throughout the campaign, providing regular updates on progress, showcasing the impact of funds raised, and expressing gratitude to the community for their support.
