That’s it. That’s the whole post.

I don’t even know where to begin.

My time at Create & Cultivate had me at a lost for words.

It was truly such an empowering experience for me.

Excuse me in advance for using “empowering” 5738982 times in this post. Honestly, it’s the perfect word to describe it all.

It being my first time attending the conference, I had no idea what to expect. Although I have seen the glitzy Instagram photos, the exciting trailers on their website, tons and tons of YouTube vlogs, I still wasn’t ready for the jam-packed day ahead of me.

And so, I took the plunge and flew to San Francisco for the weekend! Heck, I got to visit my family when I was there so it was going to be a win/win situation all around.

Upon entering the venue, I was greeted by such warm vibes. In line, I met a few ladies who were also attending for the first time. Everyone was so ecstatic and friendly.

The venue was located in Downtown San Francisco at SVN West. It was decked out in very beautiful florals, vibrant murals, and whole bunch of colorful activations that came to life.

I really appreciated the details of the event design. From inspiring quotes painted all over the walls to the innovative branding apparent throughout the conference, I loved the attention to detail.

The day itself was packed with panels featuring female entrepreneurs, digital mavens, and activists, networking with boss ass women, Instagrammable moments, and a whole of treating myself. I was following the Track 2 route and had the chance to attend panels focused on social media and building brands.

Coming into the conference, I was a little intimidated being around all the buzz alone. Thankfully, I met Victoria, who constantly became my buddy for the whole day. Check her out at Stand Up To Standards. She is currently working on a platform dedicated to empowering women, sharing stories to defy the standards set by society & media. What a BOSS!

Brands like Alaska Airlines, PicMonkey, Planoly, Bumble, and heyRoven provided fun, interactive booths. I came to the conference for the content, came out of it with new content haha! I loved the new goodies I got to take home with me. I even had the chance to get my hair done. Thanks goodhairday!

Don’t even get me started on the food! The breakfast provided by OLLY kept me energized throughout the day. Me being the type that gets hangry by the afternoon, I was stoked to see there were snacks everywhere for us to grab. I got to try new brands I never heard of before that I definitely would like to try again.

Overall, Create & Cultivate was what I needed during this exact moment of my life. Not to be dramatic or anything, but it’s honestly so true. These past few months have been a lot of soul searching and realizing my true passions. Hearing women making it big in their different spaces empowered me to keep striving for more. Learning about their experiences of how they built their empire has sparked a fire in me to continue growing my side hustles and not being afraid to take a risk. I learned that I should never doubt my talents and passions. That I should embrace them and see them fly. That I should go with my gut feelings and see where they take me.

The speakers spilled so much valuable advice. I found myself jotting away in my notebook during panels! Here’s some wisdom I’d like to share from my notes:

  • “Do What You Love, Do What You’re Good At.”
  • “People don’t relate to Perfect.”
  • “Success isn’t likes, it’s the direct connections you create.”
  • “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
  • “In order to see change, it’s important to feel uncomfortable.”
  • “The risky way is the safe way, the safe way is the risky way.”
  • “Take chances. One day, you’ll be a CEO.”
  • “Enjoy the journey as much as the rewards at the end.”
  • “Own it. Whatever it is, own it.”

Thanks C&C! I can’t wait to create & cultivate the career of my dreams.

P.S. Stay tuned to learn about my newest side hustle. For now, here’s my blog! I hope to crank out more content the upcoming weeks once my travels settle down. See you soon!
