Roaming Around: A Rome Travel Diary

And just like that… I have made it to my last week in Europe!

This month was very eventful. I have been able to travel all over Europe, getting to experience a plethora of diverse cultures. It has been so great diving into many adventures here. However, I am exhausted. It has been such a long month here and I can’t even begin describing how amazing this opportunity to study abroad has been.

Ending my line of weekend trips, I went to Italy to experience its food, history, art, and culture. It was such an interesting trip. I can’t even sum up everything. The Italian food was spectacular and I can’t get over the delicious pasta I had this weekend. I am in love with carbonara. The pizza was life-changing as well. Shoutout to Pizza Zizza for feeding me the best pizza I have ever eaten! The pizza sampler is a must-try! We were able to get six different kinds of pizzas for only 17 euros. What a steal! Don’t even get me started on the gelato! It was heavenly. I love gelato, so this trip for sure satisfied my cravings.

Other than the food, my favorite part about this trip was visiting the Vatican. It was a blessing to be able to see the Sistine Chapel, something I have once studied back in high school for AP Art History. It was also such a great experience roaming around the museum and gazing at all the art in St. Peter’s Basilica. I’m glad I was able to catch a quick mass over there too! Sunday was extra special because I got to see the Pope! It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and it was worth it.

Here are some pics from Rome:

Italy, I will be back.

Welp, time to get some sleep. Happy Finals Week!

Sincerely,
